A New Leaf, Inc., founded in October 2003, is a non-profit organization providing therapeutic foster care services for children and families. We are located in Circleville, Ohio and serve Central and Southern Ohio. We have effective services that build solid relations with family, peers, school, and communities. Our homes will effectively meet the needs of children, their primary families, and their foster families with respect to personal dignity and worth of each member.

 

We will advocate for each child's rights, encourage personal development, and embrace diversity.

 
We will provide an environment focused on accountability, structured for individual needs and the betterment and safety of each child.  

Foster Care Services:

Pre-Adoptive Infant and Family Foster Care provides quality family and community supports to the youth in service.

 

Treatment Foster Care provides a community therapeutic setting for children. This type of foster care requires intensive care management with/for children.

 

Independent Living Skills Training for youth in preparation of adult life in the community.

 

Respite Care offers temporary out-of-home care for youth and families.

 
Foster Home Certification:

Must be at least 21 years of age, require a homestudy, physical's, references, background checks, fingerprints, fire inspection, safety audit, pre-placement training.

 

Foster Home Licenses are valid for two years and then the foster home must be re-certified.

 

Maintenance of foster care licenses includes, but is not limited to, completion of continuing training hours and adherence to state regulations/agency policies.

 
Referrals for Services:
Are children who have been sexually, physically, and/or emotionally abused, neglected. Children may have drug/alcohol issues, emotional problems, mr/dd, or behavioral challenges.  
Home of origin for the children supported are also from the Central and Southern parts of Ohio.  
Age ranges from 0 - 22 years of age.  
Referrals are received from various contract agencies located in Central and Southern Ohio. Contract agencies are typically county Children's Services.  

Foster Homes:

We have 45 certified foster homes in the Central and Southern parts of Ohio.

 

Foster Parents maintain weekly documentation of services to/for youth, i.e. medical appointments, visitation with family of origin, behavioral charting, medication administration, counseling appointments, etc.

 

Depending on type of foster care license, the continuing training requirement ranges from 24 - 60 hours every two years.

 
Staff:

We have 15 professional, trained staff facilitating service delivery.

 

On-call availability during evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

 

Case Management staff:

Collaborate and coordinate with referring agencies in development, monitoring, and implementation
of case/treatment plans for youth.

Visit foster homes three (3) times per month.

Support foster parents and youth with service delivery.

Provide skill development for a youth's entrance into adulthood.

 

Licensing staff:

Initiate and maintain certifications of foster homes.

Maintain and administer foster parents training needs and plans.

Ensure adherence of state regulations for providing foster care.

 

Coordination of respite services for foster parents.
